World Hepatitis Day 2016 in San Francisco
Prevent Cancer Foundation, San Francisco Hep B Free, and End Hep C SF collaborated on World Hepatitis Day to raise awareness in San Francisco about the link between viral hepatitis and liver cancer. A press briefing featuring a number of speakers was held at City Hall, followed by free hep B and C screenings at a nearby clinic. In the evening, City Hall was illuminated in hepatitis colors: teal (for B) and red & yellow (for C).
SF’s Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution recognizing July 28 as World Hepatitis Day in San Francisco in 2016 and subsequent years “until hepatitis B and C have been effectively eliminated.”
